Are they a Wolf?

Their origins were of course a mix of European Wolf and domestic dog but the beginnings were over 50 years ago! Their look and character can at times image those of a wild wolf but they still a dog. Domesticated through generations of careful breeding to become what they are today.

BUT BE AWARE there are breeders out there that have used wolf blood and other dog breeds in their breeding program. These are NOT Czechoslovakian Wolf Dogs but are mongrels, mutts, crossbreeds and could prove difficult to own. Using different breeds can change the temperament, the look and present further health issues. Every Czechoslovakian Wolf Dog should have registration documents from an FCI Kennel Club, microchip and the parents should be health tested. It can be a mine field with all these wolf look a like dogs. If your not sure, ask questions, take notes and go away and seek advice from a breed specialist or club.
